What we doDown To Earth are husband and wife team, Phil and Bridget Rogers and between us, have over thirty years of expertise in designing and working with steel, and horticulture. In 1997, we established Down To Earth, merging our skills to provide a highly bespoke garden business offering a very personal and creative service. We design and handcraft unique, garden sculptures that are definitely different. We also specialise in Bespoke Gates and Railings and offer a Garden Planting Design Service.
Phil designer and maker brings a fresh perspective to the metalwork. All his work is handcrafted and this is reflected in the quality, attention to detail and individuality of his work.
Bridget from a horticultural background offers a garden planting design service.
At Down To Earth, we specialise in contemporary artistic metalwork that combines steel with stained glass, blown glass, fused glass, stone and wood to make unusual and distinctive sculptures for both the garden and home. Eye-catching and tactile, our sculptures have integrity and individuality. We feel that the combination of colour, texture and form produce unique, individual pieces and bold statements. “Art in the garden”
We design and make all our sculptures and work closely with other local talented artists: the Stained glass artist, Julie Wright; the Glass designer/maker, Sara Wood, the Warm glass artist Anne Collins.
Where we are
All our work is handcrafted at our workshop in Bronington, a small village on the Shropshire/Clwyd border.
Why
At Down To Earth we are passionate about what we do. We spend time in sourcing quality materials and finishes to create well-made and well-designed pieces. We endeavour to design and produce pieces that are not only unique but also “affordable” All too often the word sculpture conjures up thoughts of high cost and that we feel should not be the case. It goes without doubt that the materials we use are not cheap and the work is very labour intensive. However we try to keep our prices low and our sculptures will give years of pleasure.
Our "Garden Art" can be used in any space in the garden to enhance it, to create a backdrop for planting or as a focal point.
Art that lives and breathes in the garden where the weather conditions and the variations in light makes the sculptures take on a new life.
What else we can do
At Down To Earth we are more than happy to work with customers on their own ideas and accept commissions. Some of our designs can be adapted into gates. The contemporary pieces of work can also inspire you to commission an individual piece to complement and harmonise with your own garden.
